Welcome to Learning Unit 3!

Decision-making involves choosing between possible solutions to a problem through either an intuitive or reasoned process or a combination of both. Intuition is a combination of past experience and personal values, while reasoning is based on facts and figures. Simple decisions may be made through intuition alone, but complex decisions require a more formal, structured approach using both intuition and reasoning. The seven steps of decision-making include identifying the decision, gathering relevant information, identifying alternatives, weighing the evidence, choosing among alternatives, taking action, and reviewing the decision and its consequences. It is important to emotionally commit to a decision and evaluate whether it has resolved the identified need, repeating certain steps of the process if necessary.
